Common Directions
Sugar Hollow:
Generally head West out Barracks, when you get to White Hall, don't follow the main road around to the right, go straight onto a gravel road to the left of the store, due West I think. Follow that all the way back, go across a 1 lane bridge in an S curve (be careful about going fast, you'll end up in the creek). Keep going until you see the Cville reservoir. Drive past it and park in the obvious parking areas up the hill, about 50-75 feet from the river/stream.
Lost Cliffs:
Take 29N out of town, turn left (west) on Rt 33 at Ruckersville. Follow 33 to the Skyline Drive intersection and get on it. Just after the park entrance, you will go around that curve to the actual Parkway, head North (left) until you reach the South River Falls overlook on your left. Park there and walk north on Skyline for about 30 meters. Take the fire road on the left untill you see the cliffs on the right. At the top of the cliuffs is a great view of Massanutten Mtn.
Additional trek: Farther down the fire road, there is that big left curve where the fire road crosses a stream. If you follow that stream down the hill for about a mile, you reach a HUGE waterfall (around 200 ft I think).
DEM:
Take I64 West, pass I295 exit, into the city, you will see signs for I95 breaking off and see the railroad yard, make sure you are in the right or second to the right lane. You want to exit right onto Powhite Parkway, At theis particular right exit if you stay in the right most lane you might be forced onto Laburnum Ave so once you are in the right exit stay on the left. Once on Powhite parkway you will go about 10 miles, over the river, through a 35 cent toll booth. After the toll booth get in the left lane for a left exit onto Chippingham. Once on Chippingham past the first exit and take the second right exit onto Midlothian (60) headed west towards the State Police headquarters. You will go through 3-5 lights and you should work your way over to the left. You will want to take a left onto Tuner Road a closed down Shell station is on your left and on the right is the enternace to state highway maintainence. Once on Turner Road take the second enterance into the office complex. You are looking for lots of cars with antennaes and the address of 308 Turner on the building.
